Een grote oude Tamme kastanje in een weiland van een groot landschaps park. omtrek zeker 10 meter. Gemaakt: 23-05-'09.

Een vrijstaande eik op een groot landgoed annex poloveld. Omtrek zeker 8 meter. Er staan daar ook oude Tamme Kastanjes en een heleboel oude Ceders. Gemaakt: 25-05-'09.
An Oak grown in the way she likes. She grows on a big estate annex PoloField. Girth at least 8 meter. There are also Old Sweet chestnuts and Cedars on the field.

Beech Avenue, Beuken Allee. Fagus sylvatica. Blandford Forum, UK.
GPS: 50°49'29.73"N, 2°3'40.01"W.
Een Laan van 731 Beuken in 1835 geplant. Geweldig om er door te rijden. De B3082 van Wimborne naar Blandford Forum, Dorset. Je rijd langs de Badbury rings. Een Fort (aarden wal) uit de ijzertijd. De Romeinen gebruikte deze weg als doorvoer route. Video gemaakt 27-05-'09.
The Beech Avenue of 731 trees planted in 1835. Amazing to drive through. The B3082 from Wimbourne towards Blandford Forum, Dorset. It runs allong the Iron age hillfort Badbury Rings. The Romans use this road to cross the country. Video made on 27-05-'09.

Martyr Tree, Sycamore, Esdoorn. Acer Platanoides. Tolpuddle, UK.
GPS: 50°44'57.93"N, 2°17'46.72"W.
Een boom waaronder in 1833 een groep landarbeiders een verenging wilde stichten, tegen de verlaging van hun lonen en de honger die daar op volgde. Ze werden verraden, werden in de gevangenis gestopt en op Transport gezet naar Tasmanië voor 7 jaar lang, en moesten daar werken met ijzeren kettingen on hun enkels. Daarom heet de boom Martyr boom. Martelaars boom. Gemaakt: 28-05-'09.
Under this tree 6 laboures held a meeting and want to form a union against the cut of their wages and the poverty. They were betrayed and put in jail, and send for Transportation to Tasmania for 7 years. That's the reason the tree is named Martyr tree. Made: 28-059-'09.

Yew, Taxus, Venijnboom, Taxus baccata. Woolland, Blandford Forum, UK.

Een geweldige eeuwenoude Taxus boom. Op een kerkhof in een klein plaatsje. De omtrek is 10 meter en de boom is 2000 jaar oud. Een organisatie genaamd: The Yew Tree Campain, heeft dat vast gesteld. Gemaakt: 29-05-'09.

Swamp Cypres and Tulip Tree. UK.
GPS: 50°47'52.90"N, 1°59'13.39"W.
Een zeer hoge en oude Taxodium distichum/Moeras cypres. Omtrek: 5,10 meter. Er naast een even oude Tulpen boom. Liriodendron tulipiferum. Beide geplant in 1603. Gemaakt: 31-05-'09.

Een zeer oude Walnoot, leunend op het muurtje van deze boerderij dat nu een B&B is. Geweldig!! De boom is denk ik zeker 400 jaar. Gemaakt: 03-06-'09.
A very old and amazing walnut, leaning on a dry stone wall by this farm. Now a B&B. Superb! I think the tree is at least 400 years old. Made: 03-06-'09.

Een zeer grote en oude paardenkastanje. De grootste in Engeland (Zeggen ze). Hij is inderdaad gigantisch. Omtrek ongeveer 8 meter. Staande in een weiland achter een oud kerkje. Gemaakt: 07-06-'09.

Een tweetal Lindes die uit de verte 1 linde lijken. In een weiland waar ook een groepje paarden lopen. Mooie natuurlijk gegroeide Lindes. Gemaakt: 07-06-'09.

Yew, Taxus, Venijnboom, Taxus baccata. Hambledon, Surrey, Godalming, UK.
GPS: 51° 8'31.08"N, 0°36'50.98"W.
Een door mij onontdekte oude Taxus, Venijnboom. Een Taxus die ik nog niet in mijn boeken ben tegen gekomen. Meer dan 11 meter in omtrek. En op een zeer rustig en mooi plaatsje staand. Aangezien de omtrek enorm is, is de leeftijd, denk ik, zeker in de 1000 jaren. Gemaakt: 07-06-'09.
An old, new discovered Yew. I Didn't found this tree is all my tree books. Girth more than 11 meter. Standing on a peaceful and quiet ground. And his age, I think, most certainly more than 1000 years. Made: 07-06-'09.

Een stukje Buxus bos, in Druids Grove, Norbury park. Buxus groeit traag en is dus keihard hout. Deze boompjes zijn dus ouder dan 100 jaar! Buxus die als bomen groeien.. En nog wel op kalk grond... . Het Norbury park is gesitueerd ten N-W van Dorking en ten Westen van Westhumble. (In Westhumble volg de doodlopende straat Crabtree). Gemaakt: 08-06-'09.
A piece of Box wood in a place called Druids grove in Norbury Park. Box or Buxus, is a very slow grower, so very dense wood. All these box trees are more than 100 years old!. De laatste Zonsondergang voor dat we weer naar huis gaan, helaas.... Het was goed om hier te zijn. Mooi land en zeker mooie oude bomen. Je raakt niet uitgekeken. Ook mooie steden en dorpjes. Aardige mensen.
The last sunset of England before we are going home.... Unfortunately... It was good to be here. Beautiful Country and County. Wonderful old, ancient trees. Amazing nice, smal village and friendly people. We are not finished here... ;-)
